metro has no internet connection

win 8 metro billboards display latest news etc but when i click on them to view i get a no connection error ,but desktop internet works excellent.It all worked before ok.

Sounds like your Windows Installation has developed an error. Try running System File Checker from elevated Command Prompt.
Press Winkey and X together
Choose 'Command Prompt (Admin)'
Type sfc /scannow (note the space before /) and hit 'Enter'

Your Windows System Files will be checked for errors, and repaired if anything found.
