BREAKING: Is there something else up Nintendo's sleeve for the DS launch?

Along with the announcement of the launch price and date of the DS in North
America, USA Today has also confirmed that Nintendo will be featuring their
first pack-in-game in a long time.

According to Nintendo, "Nintendo's price will include a pack-in game called
Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt as well as PictoChat, communications
software that lets users send messages and drawings to each other."

It's official. The Nintendo DS will also come boxed with a copy of the game
Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt.

This means that DS owners will have two free games/software titles,
PictoChat and Metroid Prime Hunters, at launch to enjoy for the DS
launch-package price of $149.99.

More as it breaks.

Is the Metroid game for single player?

Just to clarify, the PictoChat software is embedded in the hardware.
Sweeeeet!

This is also apparently the first time Nintendo hardware has debuted in
North America. (The DS comes out Dec. 2 in Japan.)

Like the game would actually be called Hunters: First Hunt. Sounds like a demo.

And to clarify even further, the Metroid Prime Hunters pack-in is a *demo*
of the first level of the game, hence the subtitle 'First Hunt'. It will be
playable wirelessly with up to 4 players though. Sweeeeeet!

snip

How accurate can the rest of the information be when Nintendo currently
has a console with a pack in game, had the same console with a different
pack in game earlier in the year with the Zelda pack, had the "Hey You
Pikachu" pack in for the 64, the DK64 pack in for the 64, the Star Wars
pack in for the 64, etc., etc.

He might mean the first pack-in title at launch. In that case, the N64,
GameCube, GBA, and GBC didn't have anything. Not sure whether the SNES did
or not (mine came with Mario World, but that was two years after release).

In terms of launch the Virtual Boy had Tennis as a pack in.
