MFSU2 LAN Problems - This still bugs me!!

Ok... Can anyone give straight answers?!?

I have NFSU2. My housemate has NFSU2... Both legal copies... (We are both
running near identical PCs - Win XP)

We are connected both to cable internet and eachother via a NETGEAR
RP614v2 Router.

I click on host LAN game, he clicks search for LAN game... nothing is
found!
He clicks host LAN game, I click search and still nothing...

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM!?!? Its driving me
insane...

Do I need to set things on my router? Do I need to set something in XP?
HEEELLP PLLEEEEASE! )

I had this problem too, its been a while since I played over my LAN so I
will try to remember the details. Like you I couldn't see any races, I think
one PC had to setup the race and the other PC had to search for the correct
TYPE of race to see it. I can't remember if we had to specify the same level
of car or not, but I do know we tried loads of different things. We did get
to race each other but it was so annoying to set up that we didn't persevere
with it.
