My mic stopped working today in all software. Yesterday I updated windows with update 1803. After this, I booted my PC and continued to use it as normal, with discord WORKING with my microphone and it fully working with whatever I was doing. So I shut my pc off as usual at night and continued to use it today. When I booted my PC and looked in discord, my mic isn't being picked up whatsoever. In other software like OBS and the website vocaroo, it also is not working. My mic is not putting any sound through to any software whatsoever. However, in windows audio "listen to this device", the mic works perfectly, which rules out the possibility of the mic, usb sound card and my usb port being broken. If anybody has any insight on what the hell is going on, I'd appreciate it.

I have tried restarting my computer and plugging the mic into the actual microphone port rather than my usb card, with the exact same results.
I believe that a day AFTER the update, windows has somehow managed to mess up my microphone completely.

As I said in the OP, I have restarted discord trying all different ports I can plug my mic into. The problem is not my discord settings as it happens in EVERY software. Please read OP.

Did you set up allowance for apps in microphone privacy settings tab ?
>>Microphone privacy settings
>>Allow access to the microphone on this device
>>Allow apps to access your microphone >> ON

This simply changes the microphone being allowed to be used by windows apps, not software such as Discord, OBS or anything else. With this turned on and off yields the same results as it does not affect software, only apps.

I've edited the post picture(my bad, still holding to 1709 on my rig).
Your problem directly leads to this option which have been refreshed in 1803 version.

I tried that, it literally did nothing. I simply changed "listen to this device" on and off over and over again and it eventually fixed somehow. Typical Micro$hit.
