I've recently connected a home cinema system to my computer and am routing the audio from my PC to the home cinema through an optical audio cable. The system will play any sound from my computer out, however I have a mic in (for my Xbox) that does not play out. I am receiving the signal from the xbox to the computer, but the signal is not then passed on to the home cinema system.
This setup worked when I had speakers connected through 3.5mm jacks instead of the optical, and none of the settings have been changed. I'm not sure why this isn't working - should the type of output make a difference to what is played?
