Mic Not Working - Need Assistance

Ill keep this short

Issue: My Samsung earbuds with a mic that worked when plugged into my laptop broke, i then bought new Samsung earbuds with a mic but this mic does not work when plugged into my computer.

Note: When no mic is plugged in, my laptop uses its built in mic, when the old earbuds are in the earbud mic is used, and when the new earbuds are in, no mic is picked up at all.

I appreciate the help hopefully this is an easy fix.

The easiest way to solve this is to just get a TRSS to TRS splitter and use the separate mic and headphone jacks
