Hi,
I just built a new PC and went on discord and my friends said that the mic quality was ****

[Moderator note: Edited to remove profanity. Remember that this is a family friendly forum.]

than before(with the old pc). My new PC does have a 185 EUR motherboard so soundcard should be alright, then why is my mic quality so bad?

Have you tried making adjustments via the audio configuration settings.

There are quite a number of Windows, tabs, and properties that can be configured with respect to recording (mic) and playing audio.

And even though the soundcard "should be alright" there is no guarantee that it is alright.

Try another mic on your new PC. Try your mic on another PC.

Determine if the problem follows the mic or stays with the new PC.

Problem is with the pc, i'm suspecting that my motherboard and its realtek drivers don't support mic input via usb. I tested a mic via 3.5mm jack and that sounded a little better so that could be it.

How

Thank you so much! I thought it was a problem with the USB ports.

I wonder why windows puts it on the lowest?

Anyway I can’t thank you enough! Greetings from Sweden

Try "WIN" + "I" > System > Sound > Device Properties > Advanced Tab

You may need to experiment with the settings so change only one thing at a time and keep notes.

I had the same issue.
I did exactly that, but just making the bitrate higher didn't make it.

Solution : I had to activate the AGC case under the custom or personalize tab (the tab might be something else, my pc is in french so I tried to translate it, but it's the middle one).

I hope it might help someone someday!
