Question Mic suddenly got quiet

I have the RODE-NT-USB and my friend said ive always been somewhat quiet and he's had me at about 150 % on discord but he said one day i got extremely quiet and he had to put discord at full volume and has me at 200% and he says im still quiet. I did all the usual stuff like go to device manager and sound tab but it hasnt made much of a difference, any help?

The Rode microphone uses an electret microphone capsule element.
Very cheap and excellent for speech.

However they are not that longlived, they may even fall apart during use (google the function).
The microphone capsule itself is ready available on Ebay and Ali at very low cost less than $1 a piece.

If you are a bit of a watchmaker and have access to basic electronics repair tool, it is an easy replacement job.
Otherwise you'll need a new microphone.

I just learned that these microphones apparently have a built in battery.
Replace it, and I'm sure you are back on air again

I had a similar issue and replacing the battery helped me, hope it will solve your problem as well
