Mic Unresponsive, Plantronics 788

Bought a brand new computer with windows 10 after using a mac for forever and have been having issue with my headphones, they just don't transmit voice, my computer recognises it as my default mic but no matter what I do nothing seems to happen.

Headset is a Gamescom 788
I've reinstalled and installed the correct drivers for my headset
I've restarted and rebooted my computer
I've searched online and tried every single method that came up but I still can't get it to work
I've tried the headphones in every single usb port available on my computer

For a little bit when I was in Discord when I tapped the outside of my mic with my finger it showed that sound was being transmitted, but then i would talk and nothing would come through, however this stopped and i've not a clue why

For now i'm having to plug my headphones into my old mac and run games without sound through my pc just so i can talk to people, which is incredibly frustrating

It seems the main difference between 780 & 788 is the design.

I suspect the drivers are at fault but only as other people have the same problems.

I have tried that link, and my volume is set as far as the slider goes and yet still nothing goes through, i've been unable to set-up cortana aswell

I would contact plantronics as it appears to be a problem with their software. You have done all you can.

what is the problem with Cortana?
