In an exclusive interview, Dell Chairman and founder Michael Dell says he's excited about the company's acquisition this week of gaming-PC specialist Alienware, but that Dell still expects "the vast majority of our growth to be organic." His remarks also continue in intriguing ways the company's longtime dance with chipmaker AMD.

Dell (Research) is the only major PC company that has not used AMD microprocessors, and the fact that Alienware uses a lot of them was one of the reasons I was eager to talk to its chairman following the deal.

Since Dell's Alienware announcement Wednesday, AMD's (Research) stock has risen about 3 percent, to about $35.5. Intel's (Research) has dropped more than 2 percent.

Very strong words.

This guy is getting really annoying.

I wonder if Action_Man mother (whose a well known whore) could get me a keyboard. Hey Action, your mom owes me one.

Delienware will either be a great boost or bane to Dell. And I do not think that Delienware will use AMD for long, once the Conroe comes out, they will switch to them because of the more competitive price point. Intel lowered their prices for Dell so that Dell would not buy AMD. Actually, thinking about it, the whole AMD rumor was probably a scare tactic to get Intel to lower their processor prices. Dell doesnt give two shakes about performance, if they did then they would not be as big as they are. I do not forsee Delienware to become any better or cheaper than they are now. I expect it to be like car companies such as Ford owning Jaguar or Aston Martin.

Except that Alienware will get a discount on some parts, by sourcing through Dell.
All that Dell will really get out of it is reasonable denyability, when it comes to the court case.
"Of course we sell Amd chips, we just do it at arm's length."
