micro atx cases..........

so what micro atx cases are you guys using that you can mount a 140mm radiators in, have good cable management and still be "roomy" when the rad with 2 fans are installed. ........................

something out of the norm from what you can buy "off the shelf" at any e-tailer would be a bonus........... would consider custom built cabinets.

as I sit here and look over some of these cases I posted in haste........... anything that is NOT black......... I spend a lot of time in and out of my cases doing stuff. being a little older the darkness doesn't cut it while working. it also doesn't help when you're eyes are old. things are harder to see.

also.......... multiple SSD mounting is mandatory. HD's are useless for me under most circumstances and are only hooked up on a temporary basis as needed.

thanks people.

any updates? i tried looking around some more but there arent many micro-atx cases to choose from.

i think a 350d with some custom paint would turn out the best. it looks like the panels come off the case in a few major pieces, so youd be able to put down a color on a few panels like the top/side. take a look at this:

http://cdn.overclock.net/e/e5/e521c492_IMG_0610_zps85d75a00.jpeg

it looks like theres a top panel, the 2 side panels, the bottom, and the front bezel. you might be able to work out a cool paint scheme.

i know you said you dodnt want a bitfenix prodigy but i thought id share this paint job cause i just found it and its really good

just checked the top 5, only the second silverstone case doesnt support 140mm. i recommend the 350d or the define mini. they are both built with great quality and have great cooling. the define mini is optimized to be quiet if thats important to you

I thought about it but not that elaborate. I have an Antek 900 that I could mod the way I want and paint up the inside so it looks nice. looked at it 2 nights ago. have to dig out the boxes for the hardware inside and disassemble.......... if I could find the time and ambition.

have you looked at the bitfenix prodigy micro atx cases?

you seem like your looking for something original, and alot of people use the mini-itx variants, but its worth mentioning just in case

EDIT: just looked, they only come in white or black. unless white suits you?

EDIT 2: only 120mm rads too

don't want bitfenix. look ugly...... feet - handles are useless.

yes, white is fine.......... yellow/light grey/light green/orange/yellow/red/light blue...kinda........... no black/no pink........ something different in design is okay......... snowcntl had a unique case but can't use it. still open................

i can't direct link the aerocool but looked it up. don't want to go "fat".

I gotta laugh. today I was in the store and was looking for etching primer and checked out the paint. was wondering what yellow would look like. the ones they had weren't as vibrant as the case in the picture. looks neat. I have to stick around the house next month and thought about painting the Antek 900 I have.

I ordered a couple of these......http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1DS0P64908....... and should be here tomorrow. will help in the SSD department............ will have to butcher the bottom of the case so I can flip the PS around. figure out a way to route wires and where and how to add a closed loop system. Then I have to figure out something to rework the front bays. those cases really sucked........ don't tell anybody I said so. not really made with common sense in mind. builds look like crap for lack of wire management routing.

still looking for that odd case though.

in July I think the phanteks come out. maybe I'll get to see some builds on line??.

and thanks..............

the case pretty much comes with big fans, that was my impression when i saw it. the inside is way too simple to be of much use. the sdd mount things should help with some usability.

hopefully some cases coming out soon will look cool and not be the boring/bland they are right now. if i see anything in the meantime i'll put up a link or something.

thanks for the interest. your suggestion brought back my thoughts on painting the antek 900. used a blue. stands out good against the black. can actually see while working inside the case. nice contrast............ looks better in person...........http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CD8QFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.homedepot.com%2Fp%2FRust-Oleum-Painter-s-Touch-2X-12-oz-Gloss-Seaside-Spray-Paint-267116%2F203872461&ei=cimrU-aNFY6TyAT4qoLIBg&usg=AFQjCNFzOV18JApc68JBg9qRUTm0ALQpFg&bvm=bv.69620078,d.aWw................. the cap color is pretty close to the actual color. don't know where that square blotch came from.

still looking for that "odd" case to come along....... if you just happen to see one. still considering the phantek.

black and blue....... black on the outside, blue on the inside........ will be painting the HD cages a different color though. maybe an orange - ish yellow?? metallic orange........ something bright and "racey" looking. ( clash ) don't know yet. have to pull everything out and do a component swap soon. I either have the paint or i don't.

try not to high jack threads, if you need help its best to open a new thread.

but anyway, that case is very good, good airflow and lots of options. for space its goona have to go left of the monitor where all your pc boxes are
