Alright, by the way, part picker says: Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.Yep. Ryzen also needs fast (3000MHz+) DDR4 in dual channel otherwise performance is crippled.
That is true. Buying online can be a problem for that if they don't make it clear it's 'Ryzen 3000 Ready'. MSI makes an entire board line that's specifically ready for Ryzen 3000 CPU's. It's called the MAX line and includes B450m Mortar MAX which is probably the best mATX board for AM4 CPU's.Alright, by the way, part picker says: Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Did not know this. Thanks for the heads up!Just an FYI, ASRock also has a B450 board that is guaranteed to support ryzen 3k out of the box: the B450M/AC.
