I'm currently running a Q6600, EVGA GTX 275, 8GB Kingston HyperX, Creative Fatal1ty 5.1, and a WD Caviar Black 1TB.

I'm looking to come out of the Stone Age and purchase a new i-series and the associated MB. I'll be looking to build on a micro-atx board to fit in a Fractal Arc Mini.

What I'm thinking...

Upgrade CPU/Board/GPU and RAM. It doesn't have to break the bank...I do casual gaming, so I don't need the latest-and-greatest of GPUs.

Opinions on a good after-market CPU cooler would be appreciated as well.

Let's set a budget of $500...but, seeing as I've been out of the loop for a few years, this will be flexible.

I would go with something like this unless you want to overclock.
