I have a laptop that I use infrequently. It has 2 internal drives but storage is limited, so I keep my music files on a micro SD card which I keep in the micro SD card reader built into the laptop. It stays there permanently - I do not remove it.
However, every so often (maybe after 3 or so boot ups), the card becomes inaccessible and I get a message saying the card needs to be formatted before use. I would reformat it and copy over the music files and it would work for a while and then the same thing happens. I did a low level format and it completed successfully but the error still recurs.
Does anyone have any clue what is going on here? Could it be a fake card or something else? It's a new card I bought off Amazon, SanDisk 256GB.
