Question Micro SD card slowed down dramatically

My micro SD I use as extra storage for photos on my phone one day said it corrupted but was still showing up and I could use it just fine even though it was noticeably slower and I lost a few more recent photos (5 or 6). I kept using it but today i tried taking a picture and it wouldn't save. Went back to look at my pictures and it now loads them slower than my old 25kb/s dial up connection did back in the day. Has anyone encountered a problem like this before? Is it fixable or should I get an adapter to transfer them before the card truly dies.

Your photos and other data should never ever be on a microSD only.

Start copying that data off NOW, before it is too late.

Fair enough but I would like to not have to buy a new one if possible

Do not trust flash cards for anything other than temp storage until you can download to proper storage. Flash memory is not trustworthy for anything other than temporary storage.

No, you're going to need a new one or two.

It comes down to what you value more: the photos or the storage needed to properly backup your photos. Whether you like it or not, that is the choice you have to make.
