Question Micro Stutters in All Games Despite Stable System – Need Help!

I’m experiencing micro stutters in all games, and it’s really frustrating. I’m asking for help. Below is my component list. I’ve tried everything — drivers are up to date, I’ve even reinstalled Windows. I’ve tested with EXPO both enabled and disabled. I even tried undervolting the CPU, but nothing changed.

The system is stable. It passes stress tests. Essentially, all components are functioning as they should, but still, whenever I move in-game — even in just one direction — I get occasional, clearly visible stutters. Open world areas cause noticeable stuttering, like in AC Valhalla.

Please share any suggestions or possible solutions, because I’m honestly starting to lose my mind. I’ve been dealing with this issue for over a month.

FPS limiting didn’t help either.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I’ve tried everything
What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard?

I’ve even reinstalled Windows.
Recreating the bootable USB installer, installing the OS in offline mode? Later installing all drivers meant for your platform in an elevated command?

You forgot to mention the make and model of your monitor and at what resolution you're running it at(inclusive of the refresh rate and how it's tethered to the GPU).

Did you disable the iGPU in BIOS? Using DDU to remove all GPU drivers(intel, Nvidia and AMD in Safe Mode, to later install the latest GPU driver in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator?

I’m experiencing micro stutters in all games
Where did you source the installers for the games? What other titles apart from AC: Valhalla did you tax the system with?

BIOS version:
F6 (latest for the Gigabyte X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 as of now).
I've reset BIOS to default, tried with and without EXPO, manually adjusted RAM frequency and voltage. Also tested Memory Context Restore and Power Down Enable toggles.

I've even reinstalled Windows.

Yes — I’ve recreated the bootable USB using the official Media Creation Tool, installed Windows 11 in offline mode, then installed all latest AMD chipset, GPU, and LAN drivers directly from AMD’s and Gigabyte’s official websites. All drivers were installed via elevated command (Right click > Run as administrator).

Monitor: LG UltraGear 27GS75Q-B27'' IPS

  • 2560x1440 resolution
  • 180Hz refresh rate
  • Connected via DisplayPort 1.4

2nd Monitor: Dell (Turned off(unplug) for tests)
  • 2560x1440 resolution
  • 60Hz refresh rate
  • Connected via DisplayPort 1.4

Tested with VRR on/off, AMD FreeSync on/off, various refresh rates and resolutions. No improvements in stutter.

Yes, iGPU is disabled in BIOS.
I’ve also used DDU in Safe Mode to completely wipe previous drivers ( I’ve only used AMD hardware here), and then installed the latest Adrenalin GPU driver using elevated mode.

Not just AC Valhalla — also tested:

  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • GTA V
  • Spider-Man Remastered
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  • Assassin's Creed Mirage
  • Assassin's Creed Odyssey
  • God of War
  • Little bit of Assassin's Creed Shadows (Didn't see stutter first 2 missions, in open world didn't test)

The symptoms are consistent: smooth framerate overall, but occasional stutters during traversal, especially in open-world areas.

Game sources: All titles are legally purchased via Steam, Ubisoft Connect. Stored on a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD (Gen4, latest firmware), with >7000 MB/s read/write in benchmarks.
