Hi so I have the Icue H100i... sadly after trying to deal with a power supply error, I had to do a lot of fixing by the geek squad. sadly the micro USB got fried and had to purchase it on eBay and that's a wait till May. it has 0 control and was on when I finally got pc working like at full power. now it's going back and forth on its use of power which is kind of scary. I just need to know if i should just suck it up and buy a new one or if it can handle itself till the latest of May 26. thank you. Also, I have only 2 USB ports, I believe the guy who fixed my pc put it somewhere else, didn't check just yet. The bigger question is, the connector is a 9 pin and he mentioned a 7 pin? I don't know if he was being absent-minded at the time, as I can only find a 5 pin from an off-brand. Does it matter if it's in the right place he put it? pretty sure it's inserted in the own fan. could be wrong though.

Apologize i was rushing a bit as the sound of the fan was making me panick. Im not quite sure what you mean by sata but i am talking about the 9 pin connector micro usb that connects the water radiator to the motherboard to control the fans. It is completely fried from what I know and sound. With the pc on it is on full power by the sound, quite loud at the time i was writing this it seems like it was losing and randomly increasing its power by the sound of it. I have the micro usb ordered on ebay thats coming in may 26th and just want to know the possible damage that could happen with it having power spikes. Nonetheless i only have two usb ports (both taken for wifi and usb) in my motherboard and was wondering if the 9 pin can go...
Let's start again from the top, and try to provide a detailed description of what was done, what you're trying to do, and what the parts involved are. This whole narrative has "it" used everywhere without identifying what the "it" is and unidentified connectors. Beyond a wild guess that you're referring to the nine-pin SATA header, I have no idea what any of this is saying.

The guy who worked on my pc said to get a micro usb 7 connector but that doesn’t seem to exist. I can find a off brand 5 pin but otherwise he may just have forgotten it was a 9?
hopefully this made more sense sorry i dont quite understand sata all i know is that is connected to my drives. My pc is off now as i fear further damage.

Let's go one thing at a time.

  • The Corsair AIO has a nine-pin that connects to a USB2 header on the motherboard, is that when you're referring to?
  • The Corsair AIO's water block/pump connects to the USB2 header on the motherboard. The radiator connects to the water block/pump by tubes. Do you mean the connection of the block/pump to the USB2 header?
  • The Corsair AIO gets its power from a SATA power connector.
  • I don't know what "9 pin connector micro USB" you're talking about. Do you mean this USB2 header?
  • How do you know it is fried? That would be unusual.
  • What "micro USB" have you ordered? That's no device just called "a micro USB."
  • How do you only have two USB ports? How is one your USB ports being used for a USB port?
  • Again, what's this 9-pin connector? Are you referring to the USB2 header?
  • PWM connectors are four-pin connectors. You cannot stuff something intended for the USB2 header in there.
  • What "Micro USB 7 connector?"
  • What "off brand 5 pin" are you talking about?

I'd like to provide assistance, but you're using terminology that either doesn't match anything you're describing or doesn't exist at all. If you don't know what things are called, that's OK, but you'll really need to open your motherboard's manual and find what the things you're talking about are actually called. You're the only one here who can see your computer, so it's important to be precise about what you're referring to.

In addition, again, please provide the specs of your PC.
