Micron Intros C400 SSDs Using 25nm Process

I'll buy a new SSD when I can get one that can easily saturate SATA III with 4K reads or 4K writes. Somehow I don't think the Intel G2 will be obsolete for many years with random i/o performance.

It's also kind of stupid to suggest editing when it's not possible to edit...

sorry :/

My time was too important to waste, so I've being running a speedy OCZ SSD for a while now. It is nice to see the tech progressing. This SSD close to doubles the SSD I already have !

This guys should partner with HP, Dell or other manufacturers so that they can market a "finished product" with commercials for a lay audience. This things should be a bigger deal than they are... I mean tablet smartphone-size big deal. I have so much trouble getting use to how slow other people's computer feel now.

What the hell is going on with those computers? My notebook has a lowest-bidder 5400 rpm hard drive, and it starts up in at least a third of the time as the one on the right. I'll admit the the SSD is faster, but using a REAL computer, it's not THAT much faster than what's shown.

a test whit a ssd and a ordenary hard drive OMG iwe newer seen it before sight. if it is so superior show me a ssd vs ssd battle or noting at all,

I will buy a G3 Intel for my desktop, and shove the G2 into my wife's laptop. I don't need the extreme fastest SSD out there from micron and crucial, as my G2 is already bloody fast (bootup into Internet state and all icons in less than 20s on an aging AMD tricore, although that CPU will win the award for longest lasting powerhouse for me)

so ... 1/2 TB drive.. while on the one hand tis great that they are upping capacity they are still up in price, unless this cuts prices it'll probably be minimum 1300 , as its newer tech pobably closwer to $2k+ @ 2k its about $4 a gig... we're getting closer to the magic $1 per gig mark when i'll gladly jump in but not there yet

from $1.9/GB on the C300 to $1.6/GB on the C400. that's really almost sad. over at anandtech they say that sf-2000 is not until at least Q3 this year.

I have a Kingston Value drive with the JMicron controller... Whomever said it was stutter-free is full of BS. That being said, it's blazing-fast compared to the IDE drive I was running before.
