I bought a 3600mhz, 2x16gb Ballistix kit just before Christmas. Dual rank and Rev E, as well!

Way overkill (16gb would have been fine), But since I keep my PC for multiple years it will cover my mid-life-PC itch to upgrade, and "grow" with Windows and future games.

"Outages" yeah right, dram prices were falling so much they needed a way to keep the msrp up. Samsung does the exact same thing to keep prices up.

Tinfoil hat theories are a bit misplaced. Micron controls its own production -- if they wanted to reduce it by choice, they need no excuse to do so. Of course, this reduction in output also means a reduction in profit -- but you missed that part, didn't you?
