Hello! :)

I make my new Audio Setup 1-2 months ago.

- Cheap Studio Condenser Mic Recording Setup:

- Condenser Studio Cheap Microphone BM-800;
- Professional Neewer Phantom Power 48v Supply;
- Mic Boom Arm Stand (Microphone Holder);
- Included Pop Filter in the Microphone;
- One XLR to XLR from the Mic to the Phantom Power;
- One XLR to 3.5 mm from the Supply's Output to an external USB Sound Card OR Motherboard;

The Problem Is:

When I try to record example voice with Audacity, OBS, OBS Studio, Using Skype, Discord, ect. My Microphone volume is very, very quiet...

I've watched a lot of Tutorials / Reviews / Recommendations / Ect. (100% More than 50-60!)
And spend more than $20 for budget USB External Sound Cards to more expensive ones...
I tried "5H v2", "Sebra Sound Cards", "Gino USB Sound Cards" and many, many more.

- No fix for this Problem; 🙁

So, what are your recommendations or opinions?

I am sure the any of these electronics are not broken or something...

The Phantom Power is working properly, the External Sound Cards are tested on other Microphones (And for headsets, speakers, microphones, headphone microphones, ect.) on Different PC's (Computers) and Devices.

Generally I have YouTube Channel, make Content Creation, Gameplay, Tutorials, Games, Ect.
Also Streaming on Twitch...
And this 'problem' is very annoying and disturbing for me.

Thank You All so much in Advance! Everything Good! :)

you did not mention at what distance you expect it to pick up your voice. are you 3-6 inches away from the microphone?

heres a video which shows the vast drop in volume per distance you can get https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8SmvCvjf1M

yes, you can use microphones from further away but you would need to turn up gain or volume on them which while enabling further pickup also increases ambient noise.

have you adjusted gain or volume?

Yeah, I watched 'A lot' of Reviews, Unboxings, Tests, Volume, Gain, ect.

I am without any pop-filter / with included pop-filter in the box, around 1 or 2 Inches away (4-5 cm) and all volume in the OS (Windows in my case) turned up on 100%, no 'boost' (To add background noise), tried a lot of settings, program settings, devices, no solution like I say...

Even if I speak more louder than normal, yell - No effect. May be if screaming 1 inch in front of microphone the sound may go up and be distorted.

For Example: When I Record some videos, episodes, gameplay, I need to turn the overall volume 150%+, to add Gain up to 30dBA - 40dBA+, remove some background noise, add a lot of effects to sound meh.. Normal. Not good, not very loud, simply to people hear me normal (Not to turn headphones volume to the sky).

- No Idea ...

if you hook up direct from microphone to pc (xlr to 3.5mm) how does it act? (mic to pc)

it sounds like other users with the same thing have encountered this before. to me it sounds like the mic isnt receiving enough power but someone stated that the neewer 48v phantom power adapter was meant to be used before an interface - though this doesnt seem right as there are many mic to pc 48v adapters on the market so this *should* not be the case. perhaps a faulty 48v adapter is what i'm thinking instead.

you could always try a cheap audio interface instead which has phantom power built in.

also, make sure you have the cables connected to the right ports on the adapter (i know.. i know, but it had to be said)

Without the Phantom Power (Direct from the XLR to 3.5mm on the Motherboatrd) is even more bad.

The Phantom Power is brand "Neewer", one of the most recommendations for exactly BM-800 from hundreds places, forums, reviews, ect.

I think it provides enough power, it can be tested with multimeter or / and different ways.

One think that I am not sure about is Audio Interface (Cheap, but not the worst), like this - https://www.amazon.com/Focusrite-2i2-GENERATION-USB-Recording/dp/B005OZE9SA - One very good, but expensive one.

There's no reason to purchasing expensive things for $20, even less than $20 Microphone (BM-800) for Cheap "Audio Setup"...
