Microphone Boost and Enhancements Tab Completey Missing

As the title suggests, both my microphone boost and my enhancements tab are missing entirely. However, my enhancements tab for my Playback Device is present and accounted for.

I've already done a bit of looking around, I have a pretty good suspicion it's a driver issue; usually I'm pretty savvy with software issues, however when it comes to issues with sound and sound software I always run in to these kinds of hiccups.

I have been unable to find any sort of driver that seems to fix this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I went through the Device Manager and my AMD CCC; every driver said it was up to date.

I assume you've updated all driver through device manager?

You can also go to your pc manufacturer's website to download their drivers that may/may not add that functionality

Yep, forgot to mention; I've updated each driver individually, and even attempted a roll back. As for my PC's Manufacturer; the PC itself is a custom build; I did go to the Gigabyte website; however I found nothing that seemed like it could remedy my problem.

Through process of elimination it seems like it wouldn't be a Driver issue; however at this point it seems like it's about the only problem there could be. Usually the Mic Boost and other features come standard to Windows; at least from my experience.

I'm just completely stone walled with finding a solution at this point.

It's completely absent, as well. However, it does seem that I do have a Realtek Folder in my Programs directory; along with a Realtek Updater; what is really odd is everything in the folder seems to be for a 64bit system; however the folder is in my x86 directory.

See if any of those programs in the folder can open the realtek UI.

Also you can try updating windows and all the additional drivers through windows update. Maybe it'll help

Just went through, ran both of the executables in the Realtek folder; no UI loaded nor did any process appear in the Task Maanger.

I then went in to Windows Update; checked fro Updates; had an Optional AMD SmBus Update and installed it.

Still running in to the same problem.

I don't think I've ever encountered a problem remotely like this before.

I have never heard of this either. Personally, I use a laptop, it has a "basic" microphone and those enhancement settings are accessible to me..

It has 2 settings: acoustic echo cancellation, and noise suppression.

If all fails, call the company for your microphone they could help fix it or narrow down the problem

Upon further investigation, something that I totally forgot about I think I may have found a possible culprit but I am unsure of how to test it.

I am using a Radeon R7 260X GPU; which comes equipped with AMD's TrueAudio. I'm wondering if this could possibly be causing the problem?

Very possible. I would check it out if it is conflicting with any audio settings or it has the enhancements

So after fiddling around and doing some more digging; it doesn't seem to be AMDTrueAudio; I actually found the disc that came with my Motherboard and directly installed the Audio Drivers from there; I have the Realtek Audio Drivers installed; but the Audio Manager is non existent along with the enhancements tab and so on.

I have the correct drivers; but still no sound manager or anything; at this point I'm ready to pull out my hair with this problem.

I am going to join this problem with you even though I am a little late. I have WIN10 and I thought that this was a Win10 problem. But it seems to be a problem on even 8, 8.1, 7 and 10. I have been working on this situation for past whole week. I have literally cried because I can't seem to fix this problem. I've even sent email to Realtek but no Reply. I even called my MOBO to get support from ASUS. Those "ENHANCEMENTS" are so important to me because I have been using the A40 headset on Win 7 and it worked flawlessly without any hiss in the background. Now I HAVE ANNOYING HISS!

Please let me know if there is a fix to this.

I was trying to enable noise suppression but the guide i found suggests that only Laptops have these settings

Windows 10, 8 and 7

1.

Go to Start.
2.

Select Control Panel
3.

Open Hardware & Sound.
4.

Choose Sound.
5.

Choose Recording.
6.

Find the Microphone bar.
7.

Right-click on the Microphone bar, and then select Properties.
8.

Find the Levels tab, and look for the Microphone Boost tool.
9.

Move the dial all the way down on the Microphone boost.
10.

Move the dial all the way up on the Microphone.
11.

Next, go to the tab marked Enhancements.
12.

If they aren't already ticked, tick the following boxes: Noise suppression and Acoustic echo cancellation. Press OK.
13.

To test the noise, go back to the Recording menu.
14.

Go to Listen to this device, then click OK.
