One thing to note is that it does the same thing with 2 other mics and it was doing this in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit before I upgraded to Windows 8.1 64-bit. It doesn't do it when I have the mic hooked up to the front panel audio or on-board audio. It just does it when I'm playing a game and have my mic through my soundcard. The only reason this is a issue is because when I hook my mic into the on-board or front panel audio it is so quiet that I can barely even hear when I tap on the mic. I'm thinking its just the sound card, but it could be the power supply or motherboard.

NOTE: When I tighten down the screw on the PCI slot bracket for the sound card, it seems to the pull the back end straight, but that also makes it look like it pulls a little bit on the right of the connecter out of the slot on my motherboard. I really don't think this is a issue because the audio works perfect except when I'm using my GPU.

LISTEN TO THIS 2 MINUTE RECORDING!

where is your soundcard located in relation to your GPU? I had an asus xonar DGX sound card that gave me a hissing noise whenever my GPU was at load (i.e. playing a game). I moved my sound card to the furthest possible PCIe slot from my GPU and the hissing went away. Before, the sound card was in the pcie slot above my GPU.
