Hello. i have a problem, i have a headphones with microphone on it, it works but not in windows xp. i have a dual boot system(xp and 7) so when i boot up win7 and start voice recorder it records my microphone sound and when i boot up win xp and try that it doesnt work i have integrated sound alc880 realtek hd audio.. i tried changing drivers sticking mic to the back of my pc and so on.. it just doesnt record any sound.. i remember i reinstalled driver messed with settings in volume and in the output i unchecked mute mic volume and i was hearing myself when i talk and then i fired up voice recorder and it recorded sound it worked but when i restarted my pc it wasn't working anymore again.. idk what to do, sry for english 😀 win xp/7 os , pentium 4 ht, 2gb ram, GT630 1gb gpu. Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-8TRC410M-NF :\

Unistall and reinstall the xp drivers.

If you see that the sound solution seems ok on the XP's device manager, play with the "recording devices" (right click on the tray speaker) to choose where to record from.

Cheers :)

thx but reinstalling doesnt help:\ there is only realtek hd audio input and output and these cant be changed.

Weird, those Realtek Azalia used to work allright on Xp... is there a AC97 / HD Audio option in the BIOS? Have you tried switching between them?

solved. i had some microsoft 880 drivers in my pc i uninstalled realtek driver restarted and now everything works fine.
