Hello,

I am at my wits end with this crap! I make YouTube videos and I use Discord to talk to my friends and I use Audacity to record my voice. Well, I have figured out that for whatever reason, Discord has been raising my recording volume on Audacity, making my voice extremely loud in the recording. I've tried to research this issue, but I've had no luck so far. So that leads me to believe that this issue must be simple to resolve. However, I have yet to find a legitimate solution. If anyone has any suggestions, please reply. This issue is making it impossible for me to record with friends.

P.S: This issue hasn't always existed for me. This is the first time I'm experiencing it. Still, I have no clue what's wrong.

Solution
I've never used Discord, but I did find this info that might be useful for you:

Uncheck "Automatic Gain Control" in Settings / Voice / Advanced.

If that doesn't help, change "Attenuation" to 0.

From the search results that I'm pulling up, this seems to be a common problem with Discord. If the above doesn't help, write back and maybe someone else can help.

Where can I change my "Attenuation"? I'm not familiar with that.

Woo-hoo! You my friend are amazing. I was using the web version of discord this entire time, but when you told my to check the "Attenuation", I didn't see that under the advanced settings, so I figured that setting had to be on the app version of discord. It was! I'm now able to do everything I use to. I really appreciate it, friend. You are a pure genius! :)
