so i had realtek audio driver installed on my pc, but one day it stopped working. It didn't pop up when i plugged in an audio jack, even though it did before, and ever since my mic doesn't work anymore. I reinstalled it, no change, now was the time that i realized my mic was super quiet, i messed with its driver, and reinstalled realtek, no change, I checked if the headset itself was to blame, it worked perfectly on my xbox. I checked the cable connection everything was plugged in correctly, i use a jack splitter but i bought it recently so i don't think it's the problem, i even reinstalled discord, no change. pls help me

my specs:
win 10 pro
i5 4690k
12gb ram
rx 580 8gb
600w psu
h81m-p33 motherb.

Do not rule out the jack splitter even recently purchased - it could have been defective and has since failed in some manner. Test the jack splitter in an environment where all other audio components are known to be working.

Other things you can do:

First: right-click the small speaker icon usually located in the lower right screen corner. You should be presented with a list of menu choices that all lead to multiple windows, tabs, and audio properties. Explore first and make notes of any configuration settings that you know are not correct and/or do not understand.

Second: try running Window's built-in troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Third: run "sfc /scannow" via the Command Prompt...
