So, I have bought a kingston hyperx cloud yesterday, and I'm very happy with it. One thing I'm absolutely not happy with, is the microphone. It's picking up my sound that's coming from my headset, even when muted. I have all my motherboard sound drivers installed. I have searched a lot on the internet, and apparently there are a lot of people who have this problem but no real fix worked for me. I've tried plugging it in the back, in the front, removing boost, al sorts of things. Now if you have any suggestions, please tell me.

My friend has the same headset, and he is experiencing the same problem. There is one fix we've found though. If we remove the remote, then it's pretty much gone (as seen here if you scroll down to the fifth page, and then the letter I: http://media.kingston.com/support/downloads/Cloud_Headset_UserManual.pdf).

Now, the fact that I pay 70 euro's for a headset but can't even use the remote is obviously rediculous, so that's why I'm looking for another solution. Besides, the cable would be too short for me if I'd do this. So, should we rma it? Does buying a sound card help?

This just turns off my microphone.

That's not really the problem though. If I mute the mic, the same thing happens so it's not audio that's leaking through my headset.

So, when I listen to music or play a game, my friends on skype can hear my voice but also my music/game sound. When I mute my mic, they can still hear it. That's my problem.

Then the audio configuration is not set correctly, could be windows, the tool you are using, e.g. Skype, or another sound chip onboard of the motherboard, even the graphics card could be the audio source, which is transmitting the music. Disable all other audio devices, check if the headset is set as default audio device and the microphone too

The headset comes with some kind of remote (for volume and to mute the mic). You plug the red and green cables out of your headset into that remote, and then the red and green cables that come out of the remote, you plug into your PC. Now the weird thing is, when i just plug the red and green cables from the headset directly into my pc, without the remote, the problem is gone. But i Paid 80 Euros so i would like to be able to use the freakin remote.

Sorry for bad English, it's not my native language :)

How exactly did you plugin the remote? Did you plug in the green and red jack into the motherboard from the remote or did you use additional adapters?

Of really all settings are correct and the headphone is installed correctly, most likely the remote box is defective. RMA it
