I just built my first computer and everything is working except the microphone input. I have a Gigabyte B450 Aorus M motherboard and I've tried things I've found on this forum - updating Realtek drivers to the latest audio drivers, checking settings, but nothing seems to work. I've also tried to get audio through a web camera, and that works fine. The microphone is recognized as an input device by WIndows 10, it comes up as working and default either plugged into the front microphone jack or the rear jack, but it won't hear anything I say. Is there anything else I could be dong wrong? I'm starting to wonder if I screwed something up when I was assembling it.
