Microphone onboard sound ASUS problems

I got troubles setting up my mic on my brand new A8V deluxe asus mainboard with onboard 6.1 sound from Realtek.
Microphone produces strange noises
Tried all settings I could find, used the newest drivers.
Anyone with the same problem or any solution?

WinXP pro
AMD 3500+ (socket 939)
Asus mainboard: A8V deluxe
1 GB RAM
multiple harddisks

Is the mic in the right input. If 6.1 surround sound is enabled on most on-board solutions then the mic input becomes rear surround. Also try turning off Mic boost. That's a peace of crap that doesn't help anything.
