[SOLVED] Microphone only picking up sound when I tap the earphone on any surface.

Hi,
I have tried 3 different earphones with mic headsets to use as a microphone on my PC but none of them is picking up my voice. When I see Microphone bar Recording tab, the bar moves when I tap or put down my earphone on table or any surface.
Troubleshooting I have done:

• Updated all sound drivers.
• Removed and reinstalled drivers.
• Allowed microphone under Privacy.
• Made changes under Microphone properties.

I have been trying to fix this for 2 days and checked every video on YouTube but all are providing same steps which I have already done. Why is it picking up static noise but not my voice? Please help

If the headset/mic combo has one wire, you will need a splitter to connect it to a regular pc with seperate headphone and mic jacks.
