As the title says, that's what happens to my micorphone these days around, and since I've installed all the latest drivers on my system it's really confusing. Also I've tried plugging my mic into another computer and it works fine. I'm on Windows 8.1 and Asus P8H61-MX R2.0

It is actually plugged through the pink audio port directly to my motherboard. And unfortunately, it works with a headphone to USB adapter and just that I don't own it; I tested while my friend was coming over

Does the mic work on another computer though? The mic might be broken, or perhaps the mic needs power and your plug is line-in only.

Yes it works fine on other computers (tested with Xsplit Gamecaster and Sound Recorder) and this mic takes power diretly from the microphone jack on the motherboards

Did you confirm that the motherboard has an actual mic port rather than just line-in? Some have only line-in in the back and mic only from the header.

It has both types and I confirm that I've plugged the mic into the pink port (the actual microphone input port not the blue port which is the line-in as you mentioned)
