Microphone quality taken a huge hit after computer hardware upgrade.

Hi,

I have a razer kraken chroma 7.1 headset (razer, i know..)

It's been pretty good for the past year but every since I upgraded my cpu, mobo and RAM and did a fresh windows install, my friends are saying that my microphone quality sounds like an AM radio show..

I've installed and reinstalled all the audio drivers I can think of but nothing seems to have an effect.

Is it reasonable to think that the hardware change has contributed to this quality dip or is it likely that my microphone has run its course?

how do I go about finding that?

I believe I found it, it is set to: 2 channel, 16 bit, 8000Hz (telephone Quality).

I imagine scaling this up might change things, i'll try it.

Alright, I put it on the highest setting and it sounds much better to me, thanks!!
