Microphone Sorta Recognized?

After I got the Windows 10 update, my microphone suddenly wasn't being detected(it is a headset--the headphones work fine). The green bars wouldn't move when I spoke, but when I disconnected the mic and plugged it into my laptop and a different PC it worked normally. After messing with it, I got the cpu to show the green bars when I spoke. However, discord, steam, and every app on my cpu do not pick up the microphone. Firefox, edge, and chrome all pick up my mic for some reason as I went on several websites and tested it and it seemed to work fine. I can also go to the web side version of discord and that works fine. I have no idea what is happening, and it's really frustrating. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, try this: go to Windows Settings, go to Privacy, on the left click on Microphone, be sure the Allow apps to access your microphone option is turned On. You may need to same for a Camera.

I had to enable both when my webcam "quit working" after the update.
