Microphone with stereo cable

So i have this clip microphone, but i find the cable too short. All the local online stores in my country only state the jack extension cable as stereo, so will it work it my microphone? I connect my microphone through the socket at the front of my pc case.

It might work but ideally you need a mono cable for a mono microphone:

A stereo extension will work fine.
It just means that one of the wires inside the cable will not be used.
