Microsoft apps and accounts.

A lot of the apps have the option to sign in with a gmail account. This is new to Win 10 right?

Does it make any difference whether we log in with our gmail or Microsoft accounts? With Google/Gmail not being directly linked to Microsoft I wonder why we now have this option.

That's up to the app. Tons of Android apps allow microsoft logins, there's literally nothing preventing developers from picking something other than microsoft's account system!
