Microsoft Bing is Growing, ComScore Reports

So when you want someone to look something up on the internet, do we have to say "Bing it" instead of "Google it?"

"Hey, Brad, I Googled Ron Paul and I like what I saw."

"Yeah, I Bung (or Binged) him last week and watched a whole bunch of videos."
 
Let's try to keep examples within the realm of possibility.

I've been trying to compare the search output from both google and bing lately, and they're usually pretty spot on for each other. Sometimes google has a better result, and sometimes bing has a better result.

I've at least added bing to my firefox search box.
 
the porn show is the only thing garnering Bing any extra hits. and probably the fact that content filters haven't picked up on their servers yet so kids and filter hoppers are using it while they can.
 
^because its more efficient to say: "Look for "it" in your search engine of choice", rather than "Google it." Its always good to get annoyed when people replace a 9 word phrase with a 2 word one. Do you catch my sarcasm?

"Bing it" or "Binged"/"Bung" won't be used. We don't run around saying "I Yahooed it" or "Yahoo it", now do we?
 
I for one am sticking to google - both services find what i'm looking for efficiently, but I'm used to the one so whatever.

However, I have made it a point to say "Bing it" anytime I would have said 'google it' before. Partly this is because the former is only 2 syllables while the later is 3, so its faster to say. But mainly I want to play the devils advocate and so far, its been catching people off guard. We'll see if I can make it catch on in my office.

I plan to use Bing regularly, as long as it performs well. Say what you will about Microsoft, but it's good to see some competition in the search engine market.
 
I always just say "search for it" or "look it up" or something along those lines.

I've been using Bing quite a bit recently just to see how it compares. Right now it seems just as good as Google. Of course a lot of the things I search for tend to not come up with good results from anywhere, being that it is usually fairly obscure/specific sorts of things.
 
I've actually also been giving bing a serious try and it is very good. This is only a week in and I've found some obsucre internet items on it that google could not find for me. Honestly I don't care about which search engine gives me the results I need, all that matters is the end result. Cheers for competition, hope bing takes over 50% of the internet search market because google has gotten ridiculously huge imo. Once that happens I can return to hating Microsoft once again.

No it's just easy enough to say "search it" instead... They shouldn't have to be told what engine to use. However those that only use Google.com to search, I guess that's just as well.
 
Regarding the porn thing, just stop buying all the media hype. The porn thing is no more "easily" accessed on Bing than Google or Yahoo, you have to turn off "safe" searching in the settings on all of them to get to that content, and whether you hover or click on a link to see said porn is irrelevant after that.
 
I think the 3D maps are better in Bing that Google. Been Binging exclusively now for a week. With all the news about Google recording your searches and collecting all your data and then selling it, it's good to have some competition knock them down a bit.

ok not that I'm promoting or knocking people finding creative ways to use "anus" in their comments - but where did "bung" come from? wouldn't it be you "bang" or "banged" him last week? not that that sounds any better at all (it definitely doesn't - I guess if you're female it sounds less bad though). definitely something microsoft must have missed in their marketing.
 
LOL, more likely it is increasing since IE is the most popular browser and MS has now slipped Bing in there after a windows update. It's not that people intentionally want to use Bing, they just don't know any better to change the defaults thanks to that pain in the arse "run once" menu in IE8. Which, BTW, is designed to keep people on MS' defaults in the guise of being "helpful" in choosing a MS alternative.

You're thinking too hard. Bung is my imaginative made up past participle form of the word Bing.

Please bing. I did bang. You have bung.

It's like the word shat, only different. I shit. You shat. She has shut. (that last one doesn't totally work)
 
I've noticed that http://start.vzw.com/ when loading Opera Mobile in my smartphone now has a Bing search bar right on the top. Considering how lazy people can be, I wonder how many people have decided to use that rather than hit use the google search bar below the address bar (which requires an extra click to access).

Also, let us not forget the month-long advertising blitz on Hulu - how many times can one person watch a hostess getting her hot dog necklace before they go nuts and start collecting shrunken heads?!? (I made it to 1,127... so my guess is it is somewhere around 1,128.)
 
I've been using Bing for the past week at work, and google at home. The problem for me is I use the link at the top of google to access my gmail and I'll be damned if I'm going to use msn mail or whatever microsoft's web mail is. I need to find a way to insert a "gmail" link at the top of bing so my default page is 1 click from mail.
 
Present tense: Bing it:

"Don't bing Carmella Bing at work."

Past tense: Bang it.

"I bang Tom's Hardware many times."

Past w. have/has/had: Bung it.

"I have bung holes in 32-bit memory."

lol... why is competition needed in a search engine market? Is it so our search results are fairer to the little people? You search for something freely. It pulls up the results. That's about it. You don't get a lower price on that search by going to the competition.

With that out of the way, let me just say Bing is now my home page. =)
