[SOLVED] Microsoft defender Antivirus

Hi,

My issue is in windows 11 Pro. I want the Microsoft defender Antivirus Turned off in Group policy But when I turn it off and restart the computer it comes back on again. Its also Greyed out in the services but it's started at automatic. But I can't change it in the drop down menu to disabled. Can anyone help me is there any trick to this? I went into task manager went to performance clicked on resource Monitor at the bottom and clicked on msmpeng. and I suspeneded the service. I never saw the other one. and I did not have a check in the box next to it. So any help getting both of these turned off would be great. I have all the other stuff turned off in security. Thank you!!

Defender doesn't like being off if you don't have an alternate AV, so it is just trying to stay alive.

What AV tool will you replace it with?

Determine that first, before you attempt to turn Windows Defender OFF.

Usually, installing a 3rd party antivirus will disable Defender by default.
