Instead, how about a P2P version of a Social Media app where the data is stored locally, but links to your device's app is sent to your friends app. All posts are encrypted, but available to your friends. To "delete" the data from view, it's essentially revoking the encrypted key to the contents. As such, it's just listed as a broke link from there on out. As for the data, it was always sourced from your computer anyways.

Such a scheme would be a giant kick in face to FB. YOUR data, YOU control access, and YOU can bail from the network at anytime no questions asked.

With a p2p social media a targeting marketing will not work. FB can not earn selling the data that FB does not have..

Nor sure if you both understand things. All FB needs is your profile. It does not need your images, videos or crappy posts. When you register you have to create account/profile. That's all needed.
