Question Microsoft Flight Simulator performance drop out of NOWHERE

I've played the sim on my LG OLED 4K TV every day since last Thursday. My settings have been custom with everything notched slightly above High-End. After playing for a couple hours this morning, I left the plane on the runway for 20 minutes to visit a friend at my front door, came back and everything was extremely slow. Even navigating to menus is a task. Stuttery frame rates at even Medium Settings.

I have an MSI laptop with a full RTX 2080 and 16 GB RAM. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the sim, updated drivers, everything. When I unhook it from the TV and play it on the laptop it's butter-smooth at 1080 and high settings.

I'm completely perplexed at the sudden and profound quality dip when I didnt do anything differently between this morning and this afternoon. Help, please!

What resolution are you playing on the 4K TV? And what are all your specs, not just the GPU/RAM amount?

I have a full desktop with a R7 3800XT, 16GB RAM clocked to 3466MHz and a Gigabyte RTX2080. I play on a 1440p@144Hz monitor and I can't do high settings. It's just really bad optimization and performance. It is a massive game with next gen graphics, so maybe this is to be expected.
