News Microsoft General Revenue Up, Except for Personal Computing

I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't been charging $100's annually for Windows and forcing Office on us all.
I think they know that if they push any harder they would lose a lot of their base. No one (who is not a geek) cares what the OS is, they just want pretty things to click on. Linux GUIs are getting better. (NOT looking at you GNOME) Some are almost usable these days.

Maybe, but the truth is Linux needs to change their stance with drivers.

Example that applies to all nvidia fans, their closed source drivers will give you issues every time the Linux kernel is updated because of the way it works.

Granted, that can be avoided if nvidia wasn't against opensource drivers and had their drivers included in the kernel, like AMD does, but at the same time, it is a problem that will present itself after every update.

Who knows what else will break after such changes.

And yes, Gnome can go and pound sand.
