Hello,

I have been using Microsoft Office 2013 on Windows 8 for over a year without any issues. However, just recently while I was working in Word I got an error and was prompted to have Office repair the issue. Unfortunately, upon restarting, I was suddenly prompted to Activate Office with an e-mail/product key, which I don't have because I had left the installation software back home (currently working abroad). When I try to exit the "Activate Office" screen, another message -getting your new Office ready for you- pops up, but never goes away. Of course, I am not able to use any Office product while these pop-up messages show. I am at a bit of a loss as to why this occurred, but have many important documents that I need to use, so any advice would be appreciated.

Some more info:

Lenovo G580
Running Windows 8.1, but computer initially came installed with Windows 8. Free upgrade was done about 3 months ago.
Microsoft Office 2013 was installed on Windows 8 (purchased copy through my university as a student), but I didn't have any trouble when I upgraded to 8.1 until now.
Malwarebytes hasn't detected any malware.

Please advise. Thanks.

I am having the same problem on multiple Windows 8 machines. The most recent office update from Microsoft has caused the issue. All my computers that are running Windows 8 and Office 2013 all have a purchase legal copy and the keys were activated over a year ago, but for some reason the update has caused a problem.
