Microsoft Office 2016 maximum number of installations

I have a problem activating microsoft office 2016 and I think it's my old office 2007 which is why I uninstalled it but it seems that nothing has changed

Microsoft Office 2016 typically (if you purchase a license) is good for 1 activation. Your previous installs of office have nothing to do with the activation of office 2016.

Once I try and activate through internet this shows up " Your copy of Microsoft Home and Student 2016 cannot be activated because the specified product key has already been activated a maximum amount of times permitted for your software license as specified in the Microsoft Software License Terms. "
