I've tried maybe 10 times to install a 60 days trial for Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 and 2010 to both desk top and laptop windows 7 computers. I never finished because it does not recognize the key given. I just hope they don't charge me for all the software I've tried to install and never could.

Hmmm, you can install Win7 operating system with NO key. It will run for 30days. I would think that Office would also run with NO key......

Barring that, just download and install "Open Office" no key and its FREE forever. Works Very similar to Office without the HUGE cost.

I already have Win 7. The problem is with Microsoft Office. And the key is the one given by Microsoft to me for the version I want to try.
I've also try Open Office, but it takes forever, and at the end it says my computer can't communicate with the server. I am sure is the time, because my computer is connected the whole time it requires to install.

Sounds like you have identified the REAL problem, you have a rather slow and CERTAINLY intermittent connection to the internet.

That is proven by the facts that :
- it takes forever to download Open Office (shows slow connection)
* Open Office is 150Mb, it takes less than 5 mins for me to download
- and towards the end of this very long download time, you get a "can't communicate with the server" error (shows your connection is intermittent at best)
* is you lose a connection while downloading a large file the download will fail

NOTE: having an intermittent connection will also cause failure with your attempts to register Microsoft Office

FIX:
If you using a wireless connection to the internet, try connecting Directly to your internet modem

Also, Check with your internet service provider to see if they can fix your connection. If it's DSL, I've had mine looked at & repaired several times. Sometimes trouble with the phone lines but once it was their Bad modem which they replaced for free....

Give 'em a call....

I download it several times yesterday night and this morning. when it is supposed to be installed, it is not within the programs list or if I open the icon, it only goes to run again.

By default programs are downloaded into the "Downloads" folder.

- Goto Start Icon lower left corner of screen
- Select "Documents" from the menu that pops up
- From the dialog that pops up once select choose "Downloads" under the "Favorites"
- Find this file in the list "OOo_3.2.1_Win_x86_install-wJRE_en-US.exe"
- double click on "OOo_3.2.1_Win_x86_install-wJRE_en-US.exe"
- walk thru the prompts to install

Enjoy....
