Hi people, how are you
I have a official Microsoft Office 2007 pack and I was wondering if there is a LEGAL and FREE way for me to upgrade it to Microsoft Office... whatever is the most recent (2013 I believe). Is it possible?

Solution
an option is to use the free browser based office from office.com

almost full features browser apps that only requires a MS account to use. saves to one-drive or lets you download files for offline use. not bad if it's the only way you can get the newest version.
right, no reason they would allow a free upgrade like that. if you want the new version (which is 2016 version by the way) then you have to buy the subscription. remember you don't actually buy it anymore. you get an office 365 subscription and then get free upgrades as long as you are a subscriber.

MS gets tons more money this way and that's how they like it.

If there was a legal free way to upgrade to the newest version of office then why would anyone be paying for it?

Many schools and coporations have micorosft hup accounts that allow you to get the newest version for next to nothing (I got office 2016 for 2 computers for $10).

Have you looked into libreoffice? It has 85% of the functionality, can create/read/modify in ms office formats (.docx, .xlsx, ,pptx), and is completely free.

You do realize that the hundreds of programmers Microsoft has just for Office don't work for free, right?
