Question Microsoft Photo Application Memory Usage

Was wondering if anyone has any idea why the Windows 10 Microsoft photo application was committing 20 GB of my memory as seen below?

I have since stopped using the app completely as I have actually seen it freeze my computer when opening a photo and I am using an i9 CPU, 2080 GPU and 32 GB of ram.

Was curious if anyone has an explanation for this.

if its win 10, you can disable it running as a background app. go to settings/Privacy/Background Apps

I turned it off as it uses the resources otherwise. I don't have 20gb of ram but it would use it if it could.
