I have a computer (given to me) with Windows NT 4.0. I have loaded SP6 and a new Internet Explorer in hopes of getting on the Internet through a dial-up connection; however, when I try to install the ISP software, I get an error message stating that Microsoft ras is not installed. Is this necessary? If so, where would this software be found?

I'm 2 months into this dilemma, so I appreciate any input!

RAS is needed if your are going to attach a modem , it is not needed if you
are going to be on highspeed (dsl, cable , etc.)

"Remote Access Service" can be loaded in control panel>network>services
