"the ability to use “Paste & Go” in the address bar"

Thank **** for that. The only 2 things missing from this browser are Paste & Go and Extensions. Get rid of those terrible adds.

I was one to actually bug them about adding the Paste & Go feature to Edge. Most other browsers I've used has had this this feature for awhile, including my daily browser, Opera. I love this feature.

Microsoft needs to eliminate the Flash Plug-in from Edge as well. It should NOT come pre-installed with any browser. Give us the freedom to chose what plug-ins we want to install. Don't force that Flash junk on us!

wow this took such a long time to do..... and we have to wait even more for extra extensions?

They should have also included uBlock in the list of extensions.

If you actually used Edge and knew what you were talking about it would be great to hear your feedback. For example if you would kindly look at settings you'd notice that you can turn Flash OFF! Don't preach choice and then say that they should remove an OPTIONAL feature that many users take advantage of. Puff puff pass.

Anyway I'm glad to hear they're listening to feedback and continuing to improve Edge. After extensions and paste and go, the only feature I might occasionally want is "Print selected text". It's easy enough to do without, but it comes in handy once in a blue moon, and I would like it back as an _option_ in the print dialogue.

They don't make the extensions. They enable developers to do so. :/

But you're right they shouldn't improve their browser, that would really satisfy users. Can't please some people!

The thing I can't stand about edge is how slow it can get posting a comment. I have undefaulted it and made Opera my default browser. I just gotta get Bing Images to appear correctly.

Yes, you certainly can turn it off. What I am saying is it should not come Pre-installed. It's our computers, let us decide what we install on them.

how long has Microsoft had this new browser in development? how long has it taken them just to give us a few plug-ins? How long have they had to bring in dev to make extension for there browser but kept them back?

But you are right sir.... let Microsoft keep things going slow, just like there phones. Maybe we will just end up with Firefox and chrome.

How long does it take Microsoft to bring in devs to make the extensions? Yeah you definitely have no idea what you're talking about.

Extensions arent made by people hired by Microsoft, they're made by every day people who's hobbies happen to be coding. These people make their extensions on their own time. They dont dedicate all of their lives to these extensions.

You can't uninstall Edge, nor do I care to do so. I will still occasionally use it, just not as my primary browser. And I do not use Chrome, either. :kaola:

Really don't care about Windows 10 after playing with it and realizing what pile of crap that OS is. It is just nuts to see that taskbar refreshes every time something is deleted from desktop, like entire UI is web page. Tried HyperV -> compared to vmware is it a biggest pile of crap where performance wise sucks, cuts lan speed in half and causes Windows 10 to stutter, rather odd behavior. UI is impractical and plain ugly. UWA useless, and but for sure spyware works great. This OS is the greatest abomination ever.

You have to remember what the majority demographic of computer users is. It is not power users by a far stretch of any imagination and even further are PC enthusiasts. The majority of users are normal every day easy button users who don't know the difference between a good add-on and a junkware, resource hogging POS tool bar. I have literally worked on peoples PCs who asked where their tool bar went after I did a PC system cleanup.

So having a feature that has been a corner stone, be it a bad one now, of the internet so that common users do not have to go to a site that looks much like Adobes site but is not and accidentally install some junkware infested, or worse just plain junkware, version is not that bad of an idea and making it easy for them to hasve it on in the native browser is just smart.

Now I do want to see Flash die, even though I loved it when it first came out, but that is up to the web developers more than it is Microsoft or any browser company.

That said, if Microsoft did this the way you wanted you would pretty much get just an OS with nothing on it. Again though, they have to remember their majority demographic and their majority demographic are better off with built in features.

Even PC enthusiasts might end needing or wanting to use something that requires Flash support from time to time. It's so much better to have a way to enable/disable Flash in the browser settings than it is to download and install Flash whenever you need it.

The company said other extensions will be released later this year, including ad blocking tools from AdBlock and Adblock Plus.[\quote]

If you look up something called "Edge adblock" you can get a special script that modifies the registry of Edge to block most ads. It is entirely reversible and it actually works pretty good. Because it is at the core level, there is no UI for it within Edge. I have actually been using it for quite some time, since November to be precise.

It comes preinstalled on Chrome also.
