I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, fully updated

I'm trying to use Microsoft Remote Desktop (an android app) to remotely connect and control my PC. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.rdc.android&hl=en

In the screenshot below, you will see that in System Properties, under the Remote Tab, there is a section notably missing called Remote Desktop:

Every instructional website or video I can find, has a different looking Remote tab, as you will see in this screenshot:

The way the app is responding, I am under the impression that for some reason I cannot actually turn on Remote Desktop Connection on my PC.

I'll give you a look at my Services window, so you can how I have activated the various Remote services:

Here are a couple of screenshots from the app itself:

I'm pretty well at my wits end, I'm suspecting that Remote Desktop has limited functionality in Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, and works fully only in Windows 7 Ultimate edition.

I need tips, troubleshooting, solutions, etc.

Thanks

Well if I had to base your issues on the screenshot you provided, I would first check the "Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer" box and then choose the second option: "Allow connections from computers running any version of remote desktop". Anything past that might perhaps be a firewall issue and you might have to forward some ports. Also on your app, gateway refers to your router ip. I assume if you're connecting to it using your phone's internet you would probably enter your external ip and if you were on wifi, you might just enter your router's internal ip.

Correct.

Windows 7 versions and RDC:

Which editions of Windows 7 include Remote Desktop Connection?

All editions of Windows 7 include Remote Desktop Connection.

- You can use Remote Desktop to initiate a connection from any edition of Windows 7.

- You can connect to computers running Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, or Windows 7 Enterprise.

- You can't use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, or Windows 7 Home Premium.

The first screenshot is my computer's System Properties window, and the 2nd is a screenshot of a video tutorial, I included both to illustrate that my System Properties window Remote tab is different than just about every article or instructional video I've found.

I could try the external IP, I'll post the results

Thanks for the tip, I was able to connect on the external IP and authorize the untrusted certificate of the app.

I ended up with this error after setting it to Trust Always :
