However I've followed the "solutions" and disabled it through regedit, restarted and still watched it use 30% of my i5-4690k,

Even though in Services > Properties it says disabled, it still shows "Status: Running" and when I stop it, it just starts up again 20 seconds (or so) later.

It is a 100% legit copy of Windows 10

If it's legit, the best bet is to probably contact MS support.

Go to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sppsvc

Modify "Start" numerical value from from it's default to 4

It's not disabled after a restart. This will change it so that it is.

Always recommend backing up your sytem before you begin to edit your registry. Recommend a snapshot tool like Comodo Time Machine or RollBack Rx.

This is the second thread I've seen you post this. No one said anything about KMS. I'm having the same issue with a PC, and unless Dell has started using KMS with their builds I don't think you're being very helpful.

Anyway, Microsoft's stance is to make sure your Windows is up to date.

I know that this is not helpful, but I routinely check this process in task manager while I operate various computers and I have rarely seen it go beyond 0%. So there might be a hardware issue or a software issue. (there, I knew it wouldn't be helpful.)
