Question Microsoft Store showing old product license ?

Hello.

I had Windows 10 Pro volume license. After the first Windows setup, that license associated the motherboard. When I setup Windows again it is activating automatic. I do not want it. Recently, I found Windows 10 Home Retail product license, that is never used. It is working but Microsoft Store doesn't show, only showing past usage. Any product license never linked to any Microsoft account. I mean I want fresh start, I do not want to see past usage without Microsoft Store's "Hide" option.

It is not linked to Microsoft account.

A full wipe and reinstall, with the system completely offline.
WiFi OFF, ethernet cable disconnected.

After, then you enter your new Win 10 Home license.

I tried before, how it's happening I don't know but this Windows 10 Pro license activating every Windows version. Also slmgr /dli command returns
VK7JG-(masked)-C97JM-(masked)-3V66T license key but it is not mine.

"-3V66T" is a generic license that is applied to something that was upgraded from a previous OS version. A placeholder, nothing more.

Your actual "license" is digital, held in the MS activation server farm.



Where did this system and its Win 10 Pro license come from?

Yes. I can see it in Microsoft Store.

I contacted many times. They can't do anything.

You're doing a full wipe and reinstall of Windows, with the system disconnected from the internet.
And only later do you apply the Windows 10 Home license you purchased.
And somehow it still upgrades itself to Pro?

Before the apply Home license, Windows is already activated itself.

It can't do that.

Yes it does. I tried few times. I can see the license. I don't understand how it is. Can secure erase handle it, before Windows setup?

A fresh OS install (Select Custom, deleting ALL partitions in the process), with no connection to the outside world.....how is it being activated? What is it talking to?

I mean before activated label on Settings > Update > Activation tab I can see licensed label on the slmgr.vbs command. If I remove all keys with no internet connection before activating, it is activating somehow. I don’t know how it is know the removed keys.

And this is after you did a full wipe and clean install of the Windows 10 HOME?
