Where are you getting this information?

I would assume you are talking about the fix for the spectre and meltdown exploits. It affects every OS not just win 7 and like said above this exploit is not microsofts fault. I have not noticed any performance drop really at all other than NVME 4k speeds.

Older OS's and cpus are taking a bigger and more noticeable hit to performance.

I use only Microsoft antivirus Microsoft blames AMD funny Intel hardest hit. Microsoft going to pay for damage? Gaming not to good with OC software which is disabled on mine. Microsoft took something I loved turned it into nightmare
